The learned senior counsel, further, submitted that the petitioner has already submitted a representation to the Commissioner( MAHUD), Government of Manipur on 19-10-2022 with a request for reconsidering the reservation of the said ward No. 19 Imphal Municipal Corporation for ST candidate and for taking up necessary steps to recall or IN. 24 LAISHRA M DHAKESH ORI DEVI by LAISHRAM DHAKESHORI DEVI Date: 2024.05.16 15:55:15 +05'30' Page 2
review the earlier decision taken by the Government in this regard. The learned senior counsel submitted that the present writ petition can be disposed of by directing the Commissioner (MAHUD), Government of Manipur to consider the said representation dated 19-10-2022 submitted by the petitioner on its own merit and taking into consideration the present situation prevailing in the State of Manipur and to dispose of the same by passing appropriate order in this regard. [3] Mr. M. Rarry, learned counsel and Mr. U. Augusta, learned counsel appearing for the respondents fairly submitted that as the prayer made on behalf of the petitioner is confined to consideration and disposal of the representation submitted by the petitioner, they have no objection in disposing of the present writ petition as prayed for by the learned senior counsel for the petitioner. [4] In view of the submission made by the learned counsel appearing for the parties, the Commissioner (MAHUD), Government of Manipur is hereby directed to consider the said representation dated 19-10-2022 submitted by the petitioner on its own merit and by taking into consideration the subsequent development occurred in the State of Manipur more particularly, by taking into account the ratio (:) of population residing in the said ward No. 19 Imphal Municipal Corporation and to dispose of the said representation strictly in terms of the applicable act and rules within a period of 3(three) months from today.
