3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is innocent and has been in custody since 16.06.2026. He further stated that although the petitioner has five previous cases, all of them are under Prohibition Act, and are not similar in nature. He further submitted that the petitioner is ready to abide by any stringent condition that may be imposed by this Court and is ready to co-operate for investigation. Hence, he prays to grant bail to the petitioner.

4.Per contra, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent police reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that the petitioner was found in possession of 43.79 kg of banned tobacco products. He further contended that, if she is released on bail, she may indulge in similar offences. Hence, he opposed for grant of bail to the petitioner.

5.Taking into consideration the fact that the petitioner is a woman and that she has been incarcerated since 16.06.2026, this Court is of the firm view that her further custody is not necessary for the purpose of investigation. Hence, this Court is inclined to grant bail to the petitioner with certain conditions.

¶6Accordingly, the petitioner is ordered to be released on bail on her executing a bond for a sum of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand only), with two sureties each for a like sum to the satisfaction of the learned Page3 of 4 Judicial Magistrate, Cheyyar, Tiruvannamalai, and subject to the following conditions: [a] the sureties shall affix their photographs and Left Thumb Impression in the Application for Surety ship [Judicial Form No.46 annexed to 'The Criminal Rules of Practice, 2019'].
