Judgment

ORDER This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents herein to de-freeze the petitioners bank account bearing No.8106984780 lying with the 4th respondent bank to enable him to operate the same by considering the representation dated 07.02.2026.

2.The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner is maintaining a current account with the 4th respondent. On 14.01.2026, the 4th respondent, based on seven cyber complaints registered on the National Cyber Reporting Portal by various persons across the country, froze the petitioner's bank account, without Page2 of 5 any prior intimation. Upon verification of the account, the petitioner found that certain unauthorised credits had been made on different dates, amounting to a total sum of Rs.34,891/- in his bank account. In view of the same, the account came to be frozen. Thereafter, the petitioner made a detailed representation to the respondents, seeking a refund of the said unauthorised credits, which were made without the petitioner's knowledge, through the Cyber Crime authorities or any other competent authority, and also requested to de-freezing of the bank account. However, till date, the petitioner's representation has not been considered. Hence the present writ petition has been filed.

3.The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the 4th respondent would submit that they will consider the petitioner's representation and pass appropriate orders within a reasonable time to be fixed by this Court.

4.Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the 4th respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 07.02.2026 on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, Page3 of 5
