ORDER (ORAL) %

11.11.2025

C. HARI SHANKAR, J.

¶1The prayer in this writ petition is for a direction to the respondents to finalise the disciplinary proceedings against the petitioner and, in case the proceedings end in the petitioner's favour, to grant consequential reliefs.

¶2It transpires that, during the pendency of this writ petition, the inquiry proceedings against the petitioner have concluded and the matter has been sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs for the disciplinary authority to take a decision on the inquiry report. W.P.(C) 13836/2023

¶3Mr. Vivek Sharma, learned CGSC for the respondents, submits that the advice of the UPSC may also have to be taken and therefore prays for at least six months' time to take a decision on the disciplinary proceedings.

¶4Accordingly, we dispose of this writ petition with a direction to the respondents to positively pass a final order on the disciplinary proceedings against the petitioner within a period of six months from today. Needless to say, the order would be passed after complying with the necessary requirements of law in that regard.

¶5The petition stands disposed of in the aforesaid terms.

¶6In case the petitioner continues to remain aggrieved by the order which would be ultimately passed, his rights in law shall remain reserved.
