ORDER This Writ Petition is filed seeking to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 3 to provide adequate and effective police protection to the petitioner, his men, labourers, vehicles, machinery and materials for the purpose of constructing the bridge across the Keelamelgudi Varathu Canal in Manamadurai Taluk, Sivagangai District, strictly in accordance with the permission granted by the fifth respondent in K.No.Va6/Ko.75(Palam)/27M/2016 dated 18.01.2017 and further direct the respondents no.1 to 3 to prevent any unlawful interference by private individuals.

¶2Learned counsel for the Petitioner submitted that the petitioner had obtained proper permission to put up a bridge across a canal from the 5th respondent. However, the petitioner anticipates disturbance from the local public while laying the said bridge and sought the indulgence of this Court.

¶3Heard either sides and carefully perused the materials available on record.

¶4Considering the petitioner's representation, the 3rd respondent police is directed to afford necessary police protection, facilitating the petitioner to put up the bridge, if the permission as submitted by the petitioner is in order. Further, the petitioner is directed to pay necessary charges in terms of G.O(Ms)No.139, Home (Pol-VIII) Department, dated 04.03.2019.

¶5With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of.
