ORDER This writ petition is filed for the following relief: "To direct the 2nd and 3rd respondents to revise and regularize the service seniority and to give further promotion as notionally with monetary benefits to the petitioner on the basis of petitioner's representation dated 16.02.2026 as per the orders which were complied in Identical matters in proceedings C.No.A1/12265/2013 R.O.O.No.141/2015 dated 27.03.2015."
¶2The petitioner is a retired Sub-Inspector of Police, who entered service as Grade I Police Constable on 15.04.1974. The petitioner retired from service on 31.01.2011. The petitioner would submit that despite being fully eligible, promotions to the ranks of Head Constable, Special Sub Inspector and Sub Inspector were granted with substantial delay. Consequently, he was deprived of further promotion to higher posts, including Inspector of Police. Page3 of 5
¶3The petitioner would submit that similarly placed persons were granted revision of seniority and consequential benefits by this Court in WA.Nos.361, 364 and 367 of 2012. Therefore, the petitioner sent a representation dated
16.02.2026, seeking revision of seniority and grant of notional promotion with monetary benefits. Since there is no response, the petitioner is before this Court.
¶4Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the fact that the petitioner's representation dated 16.02.2026 has not been considered to date, a direction is issued to respondents to consider the petitioner's representation and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of 6 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
