¶1The Petitioner was serving as Deputy Manager, Ahmedabad, with the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India1 and had earlier served as Branch Manager, Azadpur. Disciplinary proceedings were initiated against him in relation to alleged irregularities in the sale of onion and garlic at the Azadpur Branch during 2018-19. The Executive Committee of NAFED, vide order dated 31st March, 2023, terminated the Petitioner and sought to recover the outstanding amount of Rs. 36,05,484.50 from his dues.

¶2It is submitted that the Petitioner preferred an appeal against the said order before the Appellate Authority, which, after granting him an opportunity of personal hearing, dismissed the appeal and affirmed the order

¶3Thereafter, the Petitioner preferred a Review Petition dated 28th August, 2024, under the NAFED Conduct, Discipline & Appeal Rules, 1994, assailing the order dated 31st March, 2023, as well as the appellate order dated 6th May, 2024. The said Review Petition remains pending. The Petitioner has since made several requests seeking its expeditious consideration and disposal; however, no decision thereon has been communicated to him.

¶4The grievance of the Petitioner in the present petition is, thus, confined to the pendency of his Review Petition dated 28th August, 2024. Accordingly, without going into the merits of the case, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the competent reviewing authority to consider and decide the Review Petition dated 28th August, 2024, in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from today.

¶5All rights and contentions of the parties are left open.

¶6The Court has not commented on or examined the merits of the case.
