Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023 · Chapter VIII: Estoppel
Section 121: Estoppel
In plain words
Estoppel: if a person, by what they say, do or fail to do, intentionally leads another to believe something is true and act on it, neither they nor their representative can later deny it in a case between them and that other person.
Example: A falsely leads B to believe some land is A's and B buys it. The land later becomes A's, and A tries to cancel the sale saying he had no title then. A cannot be allowed to prove that.
