ORDER The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records pertaining to the impugned order dated 10.03.2025 passed by the third respondent in Na.Ka.No. 2908709/2025/A3, to quash the same as being illegal, arbitrary, and unsustainable in law, and consequently, to direct respondent Nos. 1 to 5 to cancel the pattas granted in favour of respondent Nos. 6 to 21 in respect of lands measuring 88 acres and 50 cents in Survey No. 27 and 21 acres and 50 cents in Survey No. 28, situated at Venugopalapuram Village, R.K. Pet Taluk, Tiruvallur District, which are classified in the revenue records as Government Land (Bought-in-Land) and Lake (Eri). The petitioner further seeks a direction to the official respondents to restore the classification of the aforesaid lands as Bought-in-Land and Eri (Lake) in the revenue records, and to take appropriate steps for the removal of encroachments and protection of the said public water body. ¶2When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that though the petitioner has sought a larger relief, he would restrict his prayer to the extent of seeking a direction to the first respondent to dispose of the revision petition filed by the petitioner within a stipulated time frame to be fixed by this Court.

¶3Heard Mr. B. Pachaiyappan, learned counsel for the petitioner, and the learned Government Counsel appearing for respondent Nos. 1 to 5, and perused the materials placed on record.

¶4In view of the submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner restricting the prayer to a mandamus for the disposal of the revision petition, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the first respondent / the Commissioner of Land Administration, Chennai, to consider the petitioner's revision petition and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording a fair opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as well as respondent Nos. 6 to 21, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
