Mama Natung v. Tani Loffa

ORDER Date : 05.12.2024 Heard Mr. D. Das, learned Senior Counsel assisted by Mr. K. Talukdar and Mr. D. Laji, learned counsel for the applicant. Also heard Mr. P. D. Nair, learned counsel for the opposite party.

The present interlocutory application has been so instituted by the applicant herein praying for further 30 days time to file his written statement in the matter. The ground assigned for the adjournment sought for is that the documents so requisite for the purpose of filing the written statement is being collected by the respondent.

It is seen on the last occasion i.e on 06.11.2023, on similar grounds, the respondents has sought for extension for filing the written statement.

Mr. P. D. Nair, learned counsel for the opposite party has vehemently objected to the grant for further extension of time in the matter to the applicant for filing his written statement in the connected Election Petition.

However, on considering the contentions raised in the matter by the applicant as well as upon hearing the learned counsel for the parties, an extension of time, hereby is granted as a last chance to the applicant for filing his written statement in the connected Election Petition being Election Petition No. 09(AP)/2024.

Page No.# 3/3 Accordingly, the time sought for filing the written statement by the applicant in the connected election petition being Election Petition No. 09(AP)/2024, stands extended till 03.01.2025.

With the above observation and direction, interlocutory application stands closed.
