18.11.2024 Heard Mr. M. Islam, learned counsel for the applicant. This interlocutory application is preferred by the applicant Md. Choukat Ali for impleadment of Mr. Jayant Narlikar, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Assam, Finance Department, Dispur, Guwahati-6, as the opposite party/contemnor No.5 in the connected contempt petition, which is pending before this Court. Mr. Islam, learned counsel for the applicant submits that in order to adjudicate the matter, impleadment of Mr. Jayant Narlikar, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Assam, Finance Department, is very much necessary in the connected contempt petition and therefore, Mr. Islam has contended to allow this impleadment application. Page No.# 3/3 Having heard the submission of learned counsel for the applicant and also having considered the facts and circumstances on the record, impleadment of the Commissioner and Secretary to the Govt. of Assam, Finance Department, is found to be very much necessary in order to dispose of the Cont.Cas(C) No.600/2024.
