¶2By way of this interlocutory application, the applicant is seeking impleadment of 'Sri P. Ashok Babu, IAS, the Commissioner & Secretary to the Page No.# 2/3 Government of Assam, Health and Family Welfare Department, Dispur, Guwahati, 781006' as respondent no. 8 and 'Dr. Umesh Phancho, the Director of Health Services, Assam, Hengrabari, Guwahati-781036' as respondent no. 9 in the connected contempt petition, Cont.Cas(C) no. 198/2020.

¶3Mr. Haque submits that in view of retirement/transfer of respondent nos. 5 & 6 respectively, the present impleadment application of the new incumbents has been filed.

¶4It appears that the present incumbents holding the post of the Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Assam, Health and Family Welfare Department, Dispur, Guwahati, 781006 and the Director of Health Services, Assam, Hengrabari, Guwahati-781036 are essential for the effective adjudication of the contempt proceeding.

¶5Accordingly, this interlocutory application for impleadment stands allowed.

¶6It is directed that 'Sri P. Ashok Babu, IAS, the Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Assam, Health and Family Welfare Department, Dispur, Guwahati, 781006' be impleaded as respondent no. 8 and 'Dr. Umesh Phancho, the Director of Health Services, Assam, Hengrabari, Guwahati-781036' be impleaded as respondent no. 9 in the connected contempt petition, Cont.Cas(C) no. 198/2020.

¶7Let an amended Cause-Title be submitted before the Registry of this Court.
