Heard Mr. S. Dutta, learned counsel for the applicant/appellant, who has filed the instant application for stay of the operation of the impugned judgment and award dated 23.02.2018, passed by the learned Member, MACT, Barpeta in MAC Case No. 724/2015. After hearing the parties, this Court finds it fit to stay the operation of the impugned judgment and award dated 23.02.2018, passed by the learned Member, MACT, Barpeta in MAC Case No. 724/2015, subject to deposit of 50% of the awarded amount before the Registry within four weeks. The claimant is represented by Mr. K. R. Bora, learned counsel, who submits that the deposited amount may be allowed to be withdrawn by the claimants. Accordingly, the deposited amount may be allowed to be withdrawn by the claimant by the Registry on proper verification. With the above observation, the I.A. is allowed and disposed of accordingly.
