No. 2 was solemnized on 13.03.2013, according to Hindu rites and ceremonies. Out of the said wedlock, the parties have two children. Owing to matrimonial discord and differences between the parties, Respondent No. 2 approached the CAW Cell, Sector-3, Rohini, Delhi, pursuant to which the present FIR came to be registered against the petitioners and one Late Sh. Phool Chand.

¶6It is submitted that, after the registration of the FIR, sincere efforts were made by the family members, relatives, friends and well-wishers of both parties to bring about a reconciliation. The parties amicably resolved their matrimonial disputes in February, 2022 and resumed cohabitation. Since then, Petitioner No. 1 and Respondent No. 2 have been residing together peacefully as husband and wife and their matrimonial relationship stands restored. The parties were also blessed with their second child on 13.04.2024.

¶10In view of the fact that the parties have amicably resolved their matrimonial disputes, resumed cohabitation and have been residing together peacefully as husband and wife, no useful purpose would be served by continuing the criminal proceedings arising out of the present FIR. ¶11Considering the nature of the dispute, the reconciliation between the parties and the statement of Respondent No. 2 that she has no objection to the quashing of the FIR, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by continuing with the present criminal proceedings. There is no legal impediment to quashing the FIR in the facts and circumstances of the present case.

¶12Accordingly, FIR No. 306/2021, registered at Police Station Budh Vihar, Delhi, for offences punishable under Sections 498A/406/34 of the IPC, along with all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom, is hereby quashed.
