¶1Through, the present Writ Petition, the Petitioner seeks a direction to the Respondent for unconditional release of 137 grams of gold, comprising two metal bars, detained on 09.07.2023.

¶2Though the Counter Affidavit has not been placed on record, the rejoinder filed by the Petitioner is on record.

¶3Learned Counsel appearing for the Respondent has handed over, on his laptop, a copy of the reply. It is disclosed therein that the statement of the Petitioner was recorded on 09.07.2023, wherein the Petitioner had waived issuance of Show Cause Notice as well as the requirement of a personal hearing.

¶4In view of the aforesaid position, the Petitioner is relegated to the remedy available before the Adjudicating Authority. Liberty is granted to the Petitioner to file his reply and appear before the Adjudicating Authority on 08.09.2026 at 11:00 A.M. This is a digitally signed order. 5. It is expected that the Adjudicating Authority shall finally decide the matter, irrespective of whether the Petitioner enters appearance or not, within a period of two months from today.

¶6Accordingly, the present Writ Petition stands disposed of.
