Billeswar Kalita v. The State of Assam

ORDER 04-12-2024 Heard Mr. D. K. Das, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. B. Sarma, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, Assam for the State.

¶2Apprehending his arrest, the petitioner, namely, Sri Billeswar Kalita, son of late Nabin Ch. Deka, resident of Village-Murara, P.S.-Rangia, District-Kamrup(R) has filed this application under Section 482 BNSS seeking pre-arrest bail in Sialmari P.S. Page No.# 2/2 Case No. 18/2020, registered under Sections 447/118/342/384/34 of the IPC read with Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

¶3During the deliberation of the matter, Mr. B. Sarma, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, Assam on instruction, submitted that police after completion of investigation of the case has already submitted the charge-sheet in said Sialmari P.S. Case No. 18/2020 vide Charge-Sheet No. 23/2024 dated 30.10.2024.

¶4In view of the above, the petitioner is directed to appear before the appropriate forum/authority for his regular bail in said Sialmari P.S. Case No. 18/2020.

¶5With the above observation and direction, this pre-arrest bail application stands closed.
